Forani & Pecorari Marine Pumps

Posted: 25 March 2025

Overview

Italy's Forani & Pecorari have produced bronze seawater pumps, designed exclusively for commercial fishing vessels & workboats, for over half a century.

Their production includes self-priming centrifugal & turbine ( aka peripheral or regenerative ) pumps for engine cooling, bilge, deckwash, fire applications etc.with a well-earned reputation for reliability & longevity.  Models can be supplied as close-coupled motor pump units, mostly 3-phase but with options in smaller sizes in 24vDC form.

Also in the range are bare shaft models with clutch options, magnetic or manual, where pto drive is utilised.  Most models can also be supplied with hydraulic motors.

Centrifugal & turbine self-primers up to 2 1/2" bore ( max 90 & 55 cu.m/hr ) are produced and end suction designs up to 5" bore ( max 500 cu.m/hr ).  Further, there are 3-way & rt.angle bronze SDNR valves catalogued.

A widely appreciated feature of the Forani pumps is the ready availability of spares at realistic prices, complementing the attraction of the range to commercial users throughout Europe & beyond.

Pump Types – Technical Breakdown

AM Series – Self-Priming Bronze Pumps

  1. Self-priming design (up to 7m vertical suction lift)
  2. Bronze casing, bronze impeller, stainless shaft
  3. Grease-lubricated ball bearings
  4. Available in clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation
  5. Supplied bare shaft for flexible coupling or pulley drive

Shaft Rotation Options

Correct rotation is essential. Impellers are angled to match rotation direction. Clockwise pumps are standard. Anti-clockwise versions are designed for mirrored installations or opposite-facing PTOs.

⚡ Motorised Options – 12V / 24V

All Forani pumps can be paired with DC motors. We offer 12V and 24V marine-grade motors. These are ideal for isolated or auxiliary systems on commercial and leisure vessels.
