EJ Bowman exhaust gas heat exchangers are designed to recover thermal energy from engine exhaust gases and transfer it to a secondary fluid, typically water or coolant. By capturing heat that would otherwise be lost through the exhaust system, these units improve overall system efficiency and reduce wasted energy.
These heat exchangers are widely used in combined heat and power (CHP) systems, marine propulsion and auxiliary engines, and industrial generator installations. In CHP applications they play a key role in recovering exhaust heat for hot water generation, space heating, or process heating, significantly improving total energy utilisation.
Bowman units are engineered for robust operation, high thermal efficiency, and long service life, making them suitable for both marine environments and demanding industrial installations.
Typical applications include:
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems
Marine & Industrial diesel generator sets engines
Waste heat recovery systems
Process heating applications
Selection of the appropriate unit should consider engine exhaust gas flow, exhaust temperature, and the required heat recovery capacity. The performance figures shown are typical values and actual results may vary depending on operating conditions and installation design.
EJ Bowman exhaust gas heat exchangers are engineered to recover heat from engine exhaust streams and transfer it efficiently to a secondary fluid, typically water or coolant. Designed for durability and effective thermal performance, these units allow otherwise wasted exhaust energy to be utilised for heating, hot water generation, or auxiliary system support. Their robust construction and proven heat transfer design make them a practical solution for improving overall system efficiency and energy utilisation in marine and industrial installations.
Common usage cases include marine engines for onboard hot water systems, combined heat and power (CHP) plants to boost thermal efficiency, and industrial generators where recovered heat supports process heating or space heating applications.
